Manifestation - An Unpublished Author Perspective

I'm really happy to have Skylar on the blog today. August's members' club theme is manifestation. We've heard off establised authors and creative entrepreneurs, on how they use manifetation and law of attraction to manifest the career they want.

I thought it was important to get the perspective of an unpublished author. We all start somewhere and I was interested to hear how Skylar is using manifestation.

We will catch up with her in a few months to see the changes in her career.

Welcome to the blog Skylar. Please introduce yourself and tell everyone what you write.

Hello everyone, I'm Skylar Senn and I am a contemporary romance author. My novels are kinda adventurous, kinda funny and definitely romance!

What does manifestation and law of attraction mean to you?

Manifestation and the Law of Attraction mean a lot to me! It's a state of being and a tool available to each one of us. As vibrational beings we are always moving at a spiritual level. When you become aware of that, you can lift your vibration and get in alignment with your true purpose. It's a way of thinking - a mindset. For example, if you love yourself first you radiate love and allow others to love you. You radiate that at a metaphysical level and even attract that. Manifestation and Law of attraction have the power to elevate your life and awaken your soul to the truth. The law of attraction means looking inside yourself and finding the answers.

As an unpublished author why is it important to you, and why did you start practicing it?

It's important to me and I started practicing it because I was dealing with a lot of overwhelm. I wanted to finish writing my books and working a demanding full time job sometimes made it emotionally difficult to deal with. So, there was work stress, imposter syndrome, writer's block, procrastination and all those things that fall into mindset. But the law of attractions helped me view things from a different perspective. For example, I used to constantly complain about not having enough time to do anything. When I truly understood the magic of manifestation I changed my tune - I tried positive affirmations and mantras. This completely changed my life - I saw how this simple tool made a big impact: I got up early, scheduled my tasks, got into time blocking and regularly reviewed my goals and progress.

How do you use it?

I use positive affirmations, meditation and I read books on this subject. The key to affirmations and scripting is to state what you want as though you already have it. And notice how that feels. For example: I have all the time I need. I am loved. For this to truly work, you need to believe it. When it comes to meditation the key is to clear all thoughts from the mind. Focus on each breath and deep conscious breathing to silence that inner noise. I've found that when I calm that inner ''chatter' I become more receptive to the messages, prompts and nudges from the universe.

Can you share any instances when manifestation/law of attraction has worked for you as an author?

The law of attraction and manifestation  has helped me align my objectives to my purpose as an author. For years I had a sci-fi story inside me that had to be told. To be honest, it ended up being a series. I wrote it. I spent two years writing those four books. And now, they live in my Dropbox folder. Even though I knew it was a story I had to tell, something wasn't right. I wasn't in alignment. I spent many early mornings meditating, scripting and doing tarot readings. The more I did that, the more I realized that beyond that story, sci-fi wasn't the right genre for me. There were more stories to tell and they were romantic comedies. When I was awakened to that truth and became in alignment with my purpose, everything fell into place. I found my identity and voice as an author and I realised that writing contemporary romance was exactly what I was meant to do.
